This policy explains how Insolvency Directory uses personal data. The service is operated by Hedwyn Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 13006519, which is the data controller. What we collect
- Introduction requests: contact details, message, selected firm, consent and submission time.
- Claims and corrections: contact details, role, relationship, requested changes, evidence, declarations, review status and editorial notes.
- Professional and business profile information from public sources or firm representatives.
- Correspondence and limited hosting or security logs.
Do not send confidential case files, financial records, health information or other sensitive personal data through public forms.
Why we use it
We rely on legitimate interests to operate an accurate directory, review claims and corrections, answer enquiries, protect the service and keep accountable editorial records. We rely on your consent to forward an introduction to the firm you select. We may also process data to meet legal obligations or deal with legal claims.
Who receives it
Data may be shared with the firm selected for an introduction, a firm or public source needed to verify a claim, hosting and business-service providers including Vercel, Neon and Google Workspace, and authorities or advisers where legally necessary. We do not sell personal data. Public profile information can be seen by users and search engines.
International processing
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where required, transfers use an adequacy regulation or appropriate contractual safeguards.
Retention
- Introduction requests: normally up to 24 months after closure.
- Claims, corrections and decisions: normally up to 6 years after the final decision.
- General correspondence: normally up to 24 months after closure.
- Security logs: normally no longer than 30 days unless needed for an incident or legal duty.
- Published profile data: while relevant, subject to correction, archiving or deletion.
Your rights
You may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or receive your data, withdraw consent, and object to legitimate-interest processing. Cookies and security
The public directory does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. Essential hosting, security or session technologies may be used. If non-essential technologies are added, this policy and the consent controls will be updated. We use access controls and protected administration routes, but no internet service is completely secure.
Children, changes and contact
